Life In Switzerland

Life In Switzerland

When World tourism is being talked about, it is only natural that the name of Switzerland has to pop up! Easily termed as one of the most picturesque places on earth, Switzerland is what dreams are made of. With silent water bodies, snow capped peaks and lush greenery, it is a photographers' paradise. So beautiful is the place that even people having beautiful dreams acknowledged that they dreamt nothing as close to the most beautiful place in the world!

The Swiss Way of Life

To generalize, the Swiss are well-to-do. With even the country side's median income crossing the $50,000 mark, they are actually well to do. One reason maybe attributed to the fact that more international headquarters are located in Switzerland than some places in the world. With some of the cutting edge technology going in around the corridors of Switzerland in the lap of nature - it is a heady mixture of nature and science at its best. Straight from the horse's mouth - 'The Swiss Bank may be rich but not the Swiss population' - is witty as much as it is true! The banks are currently in news for helping people stash all their illegal money; serious news apart, if you even wanted to see the Swiss Banks, you would not be entertained if you have no business to be there!

True to what the pictures about the Swiss way of life may depict, the people there are well-fed with enough dairy supplies. Though agriculture is a bit difficult in the Alps highlands region; the Swiss earn more in exports than they spend. Their main exports are dairy products, chocolates, wine, cutting-edge technology and other food products.

Switzerland is the best places to live in - according to a recent survey (it has the highest Human Development Index) in the world! Free trade coupled with good purchasing power has turned Switzerland into what dreams are made of. The small country is surprisingly well managed but is recently grappling with increasing food prices.

Bern, Zurich and Geneva are the most important cities not only for the country but also for rest of the world as major international organization are headquartered here including the International Olympic Committee. The Swiss are also pioneers in protecting the environment through efficient use of products and therefore enjoy a neutral stance with most of the countries if diplomatic relations is taken into consideration. From high speed train links to the best airways, Switzerland has no connectivity issues from the tourist point of view.
