Les Diablerets Resort Switzerland Tourism

Les Diablerets Resort Switzerland Tourism

Switzerland is famous for a large number of things, one of the most important of which is the ski resorts that are located in Switzerland. The huge expanse of mountains that is called the Alps dominates the entire scenery of Switzerland and dictates the skyline of the country.

The Alps provide much scope for adventure sports, as well as a chance to return to the cradle of nature. These mountains have everything that you could possibly want from excitement to serenity to beautiful resorts and picturesque settlements. Small wonder then, that Switzerland is such a coveted spot for honeymooners and holidaymakers.

Les Diablerets is located conveniently between Lake Geneva and Gstaad at a height of about 1200 meters. The resort offers a range of mountaineering activities that makes it a much desired holiday spot. Adding to the romanticism of the place, the area has a reputation for being dangerous and cursed.

The name of the place comes from the word Diablo which when literally translated means the devil. The place is surrounded by the high mountains consisting of a rock wall surrounding the small village. Ancient myths have it that evil lurks in the village and it is inhabited by the Devil himself.

These myths arose from the fact that there were frequent accidents in the old times which were said to be the work of the Devil. But now one needs is some courage for the numerous adventure sports that are offered in this location. The resort is completely safe and very few accidents are ever reported.

The resort is specially made for children with various activities catering to their needs. In winter there is tobogganing that most children enjoy, snow-shoe walls and ice fall climbing. The frozen expanse of ice offers a lot of opportunity for you to pursue the activity that you prefer the most. Snow biking is another attraction that gives you an adrenaline rush and must not be missed at any cost.

For the athletic, summer is a dream come true because of the sheer range of activities that are there for you. Active guests will get their money's worth at Les Diablerets.

Other than the conventional activities such as skiing and snowboarding there are many other things for you to do such as paragliding, cannoning, hydro speed, dirt monster biking (which combines mountain biking and motorcycling). The fun does not end here. For the adventurous the obstacle courses and fixed rope routes are the icing on the cake.
