The Swiss Army knife is a tool for performing multiple functions. The knife has a blade and other tools also such as screwdrivers and can openers. All these are attached inside the knife’s handle with the help of a mechanism. The handle has a cross and a shield as the emblem and is red in color.

The knives that are used nowadays has a handle that is knurled with a blade, a Swiss crest, a reamer and a blade with a combination of a screw driver, a wire stripper and a bottle opener, and also a small screwdriver that is combined with a can opener.

The origin of the Swiss knives dates back to 1897 and the trademark is owned by Wenger S.A. and Victorinox A.G. who supplied these knives to the army. This multi-purpose tool has been added amongst the collections housed in the New York Museum of Modern Art and has received a prestigious status of being a versatile, quality and dependable tool.
